5-Methylmethiopropamine (other names: 5-MMPA, mephedrene) is a drug containing a substituted derivative of methiopropamine with a stimulating effect.

History
For the first time, 5-MMPA began to be sold as a designer drug in 2020 in the EU.

Chemistry
5-Methylmethiopropamine(Mephedrene) does not belong to the class of cathinones, and differs from mephedrone in that it lacks a ketone group in the β-position of the aliphatic side chain.This substance belongs to the group of amphetamines (substituted amphetamines).
Pharmacology
5-MMPA is a relatively new drug and there is little data on its toxicological and pharmacological properties, all the information provided is based on studies in mice.
This drug causes can cause effects such as stimulation, euphoria, desire to move, increases blood pressure, causes insomnia.
